Special guest will be Douglas Turner Ward, Playwright; Actor; Producer and Director, of the Negro Ensemble Company. Douglas Turner Ward has been instrumental in setting the direction of modern black theater. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including a Tony for "Happy Ending," and an Obie for his role in the play, "The Reckoning," which he wrote. Get event details.

Join other independents to learn about the independent movement and spend a couple of hours in our citywide office helping to build it. Saturday sessions are from 9:30 – 1:30 pm or 3:00 – 6:00 pm. Sunday session is from 3:00 – 5:00 pm. Read more.

The Anti-Corruption Awards
Held each December, the Anti Corruption Awards is a year end celebration of the Independence Party’s on-the-ground growth and development. Honored at this citywide event are political and civic leaders who have taken a stand against the corrosive effects of partisanship and are helping to build the independent movement. Event takes place at Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, 409 Greenwich St, from 6 – 8 pm.
